5-2 W over Lakeland Christian

The pace of the game was slow to start.  Both teams were trying to get in a rhythm for the first ten minutes of the game.  Shorecrest picked up the intensity and was able to use their size and speed to create some good scoring chances.  Shorecrest was able to take the lead when Stephen Sobota scored the first goal of the match off of a rebound allowed by the opposing teams goalie.  The score remained 1-0 for Shorecrest by the half.  The game really opened up for Shorecrest in the second half.  After applying very good pressure to Lakelandís defense, a goal kick was awarded to Shorecrest for a penalty inside the box.  Chris Howd made good on the goal kick giving Shorecrest a 2-0 lead early in the second half.  Shorecrest continued getting very good scoring chances and increased their lead to 5-0 with two goals from AJ Lanza and one from Thibaut Pillot assisted by AJ.  The final score was 5-2 in favor of Shorecrest.   

0-3 vs Tampa Prep

Despite the score, this was a well played game between Shorecrest and Tampa Prep.  The game started with very solid play by two sides.  Both teams played very good defense, which limited scoring chances for most of the first half.  Tampa Prep capitalized on one of their few scoring chances and took the lead with about ten minutes before the half.  At the half the score was 1-0 in favor of Tampa Prep.  The field opened up a bit in the second half. There was a penalty kick awarded to Tampa Prep in which they scored mid-way through the second half.  Shorecrest continued to play hard but conceded one more goal with less than two minutes remaining in the match. At the end of the match the final score was 3-0 for Tampa Prep.
