SHORECREST SOCCER
Rules and Expectations 2011/2012

Winning the Right Way = Leadership + Service + Teamwork + Pride + Preparation + Commitment. All components are equally important and critical to the success of the Shorecrest Athletic Program. I am a firm believer that you play the way you practice. Subsequently, to play well you must practice right. Being prepared, on time, and focused will lead to effective and efficient training sessions. As members of the Shorecrest community, we are responsible not only to ourselves, but to each other both on the field and off. The following rules and expectations will help ensure that we have meaningful practices and a successful season.

• Attendance at all games, practices, and meetings is mandatory, unless arrangements for an excused absence have been made.

• In order to arrange an excused absence, the player must notify the coach in writing in advance. Absences due to club team obligations will be dealt with on an individual basis. Absences due to any last minute unexpected illnesses must be reported first thing the following day in order to be excused.

Consequences for an unexcused absence are as follows:
1. 1st time-Will not play in following match
2. 2nd time- Will not play in the following week’s matches
3. 3rd time- Will be dismissed from the team

• During practices, players are expected to be dressed and ready to warm-up by the scheduled start time. Players are also expected to be focused and on-task throughout practice and games. Any player exhibiting behavior that is disruptive or deemed detrimental to the team will be given a warning. Portable electronic devices may not be used while the game is being played.

Consequences thereafter are as follows:
1. A second warning will result in dismissal from practice and that player will not play the next game.
2. A second dismissal from practice will result in the player missing the following week’s matches.
3. A third dismissal and the player will be dismissed from the team.

As your coaching staff, you can expect from us the utmost professionalism and respect. We will lead by example both on and off the field. Our mantra this year is “NO APOLOGIES!” No apologies for missing practice, lack of effort, or not being committed.
